Santa is all knowing, all seeing, yet you tell the kids that the Santa they see is only a helper, right?, so they haven't seen the real Santa. As a Christian, I believe God is all knowing, all seeing, and I believe in Him though I haven't seen Him, so are you putting Santa on the same level as God? Why not tell your kids that there once was a man named St. Nick that gave gifts to the poor secretely and people started doing the same.

Wow, I'm impressed with the answers so far and I glad no one has started cussing me out. My daughter and I were just discussing this the other day because they don't do Santa but tell their kids they give gifts because the Wise men brought gifts to Baby Jesus and it just got me to thinking. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Santa is not before God. Some weird thing has happened in society that made Christmas more about receiving gifts, than receiving God's unconditional love. People forget the special meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ, who had to die and pay the price for our sins. I agree that Christmas should not be about the gifts, but about the love of our Lord Jesus Christ who is worth far more than anything on this earth.
