Both are the same mass (100 kg) and on the same planet (same gravitational force holding them both down at the same physical spot). Thus, both are equal, one is not "heavier" (a relative term) than the other.
However, if what you are refering to is specific gravity, the ratio of the weight of a given volume of a substance to the weight of an equal volume of pure water, iron would be "heavier", with a specific gravity of about 7.5. Cotton fibers average a specific gravity of 1.27.

each and all of the above are by some potential ideal anseres NUT, in case you utilize the term KG. you advise mass. the quantity of understand that's a similar allover the universe. and 100kg of ironf is comparable to 100kg of cotton. this even with the undeniable fact that's study from a scale. now you all say that the coton expiriences air upthrust. subsequently that's heavier than the analyzing. . properly in case you fill a plastic bag with air does it flow up? NO!!! my view is that the iron is unquestionably heavier aqs some distance as absolute volume of mass is concernd. in 100Kg of cotton you degree the air as welltrapped on the huge piles of cotton. it somewhat is atrick in gentle butter ice cream etx have been theu insert bubbles og air interior to make it softer. you finally end up procuring the air interior the fee of ice cream. (believe me i understand approximately that first hand) so iron is my selection by using fact the plastic bag could have a volume of air as properly => this further weight is substracted from the cotton mass.

Well, the cotton has a larger surface area, therefore more buoyant force acts on it. Implies the weight of 100kg is its reduced weight and its real one is way more. in case of iron the buoyant force is lesser so the real weight is only slightly more. Therefore the cotton is actually heavier...

we know that,true weight=apparent weight+upthrust
the cotton bag is heavier than the iron bar. This is due to the reason the bag of cotton is voluminous than iron bar so it experiences more upthrust due to air.so its true weight will be more than iron bar as upthrust is also added to it.

The cotton bag is heavier because it it less dense. It displaces more air and because of that boyancy, must weigh more than the iron to give the same reading.

Both are the same....as you say that both, the cotton bag & iron bar indicate a mass of 100 kgs when measured on a scale.
One may PERCEIVE the Iron Bar to be more heavy due to the nature of the material!!
