I'm 7 months pregnant with our first baby and have been coughing since I got pregnant in June. It has been a very healthy, normal pregnancy. I caught a cold last month and it lasted a week, but the coughing preceded it by months. Anyone else had this problem? If so, did it go away after delivery?

I don't know if this is Ur case, but i will still tell u about it. My cousin (not pregnant) had a persistant cough for YEARS. We finally told her to get it checked out, and it turned out that she had acid reflux and the coughing was caused by the erosion of her esophagus. This COULD be possible in ur case, since the baby may be pushing up on ur stomach and causing the acid to come up. You should definitely get this checked out.

I had a cold for almost a month and a half. I feel so bad for you because my sides and my lower stomach ached so bad from the persistent cough. I've never heard of someone having a cough due to pregnancy but it would make sense, since all your organs are crammed up into your lungs. It probably should go away after delivery. Like most things that happen to a pregnant women are resolved when the baby is delivered. I wish you the best of luck.

I haven't had that as a pregnancy symptom, and I have never even heard of anyone who has had that as a pregnancy symptom. Maybe because when you are pregnant, your immune system tends to weaken a bit, so pregnant women may be more apt to get a cold that entails coughing? That would be my only guess, but I still think it's a bit far fetched.

I am pregnant right now and have actually had a cough for about 3 weeks now myself, I got a cold and once the cold cleared up the cough is still here. Hopefully it will go away before delivery. Make sure to bring i up to your ob when you go in next tomake sure its not anything more serious going on. Good Luck !
