what is the best way to speed up computer my is kind of slow do u think spyware or hijack addware?

i installed dsl which should be much more faster but at time i kind of wonder how do you think i would make it run faster my pc that is sometimes when i am writing emails my keyboard pauses that i am thinkin i have wrtten but in reality i was writing sort of air why? i do not know it slows me down i think it all related to spyware eventhough i run the included spyware which came with yahoo dsl

May be it is related to the hardware of the computer so what you can do is you can try and increase the RAM of you computer
