You are getting ready to spend the most important four years of your life, and spend many $1000s and you have no clue where to go?
This is not good. And you are not going to get good advice from anonymous strangers about what school is good -- they just type in any old thing, or the name of their old school - what do they care about your life!.
Here's what I think you should do.
First, go to talk with some musical people you know. Ask them what schools they recommend. Ask them if they think you have the talent and dedication to make a career in music - it is one of the toughest ways to make a living . You have to be totally committed to be able to succeed.
Second, go to the guidance office at your high school and have a chat with the guidance officer. Look through the books that they have that list all the US colleges according to major areas of study. THere are dozens of excellent music schools, but you have to be really competitive to get into the top ones. Like, already be playing at a very high level. But many, many state universities and colleges have music departments that are good, but not as competitive to get into.
If you can't go to the school guidance guys, then you probably find some good information at the local library. The librarian will probably be happy to help you out.

Furman University is a good school for music. My high school band director graduated from there. I guess the answer would depend on the type of music you are interested in.

University of Illinois,
Millakin University (I think that's spelled wrong, but Google should fix that spelling error when you type it in.)
