Well, when you become pregnant there's sometimes a little spotting right around the time that your period is due it's called the gestation period, it has something to do with the fertilized egg getting where it needs to be. I'm not real clear on the details, I just know that when I was pregnant with my son I spotted a little and asked the doctor about it and he told me it was perfectly normal. Also, the hormone in your body that a pregnancy test picks up on to determine whether your pregnant or not doubles every single day, so you can take a test one day and it can say negative because the hormone is not built up enough to show on the test yet, bet the very next day, since it has doubled, it should show. If it's been a couple days since you took your last test I would take another test. Also, keep in mind that home pregnancy tests are often wrong, so if you don't start your period within a week I would see my doctor. Good Luck!

You shouldn't test positive for pregnancy until about 2 weeks after conception. That's when HcG starts to be produced by the placenta (and what pregnancy tests are looking for).

Here's an article I found on the web:

You know... It doesn't always show up the first test. You might want to try waiting another day or so. Or maybe go to your doctor and get a blood test. Good Luck I hope this Helps!

HCG doubles every few days. So wait a few days and test again. Keep doing this until you have your period or until you get a positive.
