because we have a crap government who focuses on the majority not the minority. human nature is an essentially selfish and greedy nature. dovetailing both leaves those left on the fringes of society out in the cold. it's both criminal and appalling but unfortunately common.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is a single answer that covers your question. But then, if there was, you wouldn't probably be asking the question.
As a kid with a disability (I've since had them develop while I've acquired others too), I can relate to something of what you mean. But, the answer lies in you.
You have to (HAVE TO) be your own person, developing a critical aspect to your personality where you see Wrongs done and a desire to Right them. But, it has to be because they are wrong and not because you might have developed a chip that you carry about with you.
It would help your Self if you were to Help your SELF to find something of a New Life, where you had a role and goal to work towards and fulfil.
I have the tee-shirt and have earned the right to wear it.
Go find your own, kid.
Best of luck.
Sash.

I don't know, could be that people don't feel like talking about things because the disabled person might feel offended.
I remember saying something to a friend of mine, while me and my other friend joined in the fun, by the end of the night, he felt bad for reasons I didn't know. He was on a wheelchair and we were talking about something and had him join in the fun, but he was the butt of the joke and he felt pretty bad. I was young though and hadn't realized that it made him feel bad.
I think alot of people just don't want to make someone who's disabled feel bad at any cost.
I always say that I'll treat a disabled person as if they were a regular person, but not everybody can deal with that.
I dated a girl who was disabled physically and she wanted that so I did. we didn't last too long because she moved away, but it was a pretty good relationship. after that I like to think that I treat people fairly, no matter what their situation or whatever you want to call it.

your not the only one that is goin throught this so don't feel that way. i know its easier said than done. but i do understand where u are coming from i can't say that i have a disiabilty as tho u. but i do have a few family members that are either in ur position or have other disiabilties. and yes it does seem that they are being left out but i don't ppl try to leave u all out on purpose. i jus think as the world go on they don't stop to think about every body n may jus think that maybe u don't mind. me personally i like to take in account of everybody. but u kno speak up n let ppl kno u are around u shouldn't have to get ignored, but then again ppl may put u in that circle with those who have a disiabilty that are angry all the time so u just never kno. but speak up wen u can

Unfortunately many people are uncomfortable with disability, I don't know why! Try talking to your family about how you feel and then joining a club for people your age with similar interests. This could help you to make some new friends.

Because people feel uncomfortable around disabled people. Sad but true. See if there is a support group through your local hospital or church.
Many of these groups have social events as well. Good luck to you dear.

People are uneasy around disabled people. There's not a lot going for them, because there's not much money to be made from them, have you noticed whenever there is cutbacks within your local council, its always the disabled who cop for it.Why?because they are the weakest group to pick on.The councils know they will not put up much of a fight and just steamroller through them.Rant over!

of course you're beautiful.
listen, people are judgmental because they have stereotypes and are afraid of what they don';t know--sad, very sad, but true.
again though, not everyone is like that--there ARE nice people. somewhere, but they exist.
like everyone is saying, be yourself. join a club. show people that you are like them by being you. can be hard but that goes for everyone.
you are normal like everyone else. and believe me, some people without a disablity don't deserve half the things they have. i am sure you do, so go for it. the special friends and eventually boyfriend will come! good luck, and stay strong.
