I work in a small office. (4 people) My boss is never here! She is always taking days off and not recording her time. She is always making the 3 of us do her work while she gets the credit and she leaves early, comes in late, and goes on 'appointments' or meetings. If we need to talk to her about something she is never available. We cant go to her boss because of the way the system is set up she doesnt really have one. And we just learned she got a raise when she turned down one of our coworkers for one. She is also makeing at least 15 grand more then the next person up and the 3 of us are making dirt (ie low 20's late teens)

I personally am sick of it. I have been actively looking for a job, but I want to know if anyone else is giong through this and what we should do without fear of losing our jobs. Also, when I go on interviews what should I tell my boss? I am highly educated and work hard . I have a high position but the pay sucks. I also dont get sick or personal time to use.

I want to leave, but I cant afford to just quit without a back up job because I have bills to pay.

To step up-being paid in proportion with what you do isnt true. Especially here. Trust me. I am in charge of a whole department. And I get paid 18 thousand a year. So your theory is not true in all places. If it was, i wouldnt be complaining.

first all bosses have a boss unless its the owner of the company,
so you can always go thru the chain of command.

second you say your boss is never there so why would you need to tell her anything about going on interviews, and truthfully it is none of her business.

do you know if this person is friends with the director of your company. If they are not get that persons email and send an email from a fake email address stating all the wrong that she or he does. State all illegal items that they do while there and so forth. As well if your company has to be regulated by an outside state agency contact them as well from the fake email stating how the company is not regulating her and how she or he is doing these things. You will see how quickly he or she will be fired, or suspended. I have done this myself 2 times and worked everytime in my benefit. good luck happy holidays

you are paid in porportion to your level of responsibility and results, not what you do. Your boss is accountable to other people and is probably doing more than you, although you don't see it.
Respect her and be grateful that you have a job. Heck, why not take her out for lunch and see how she did it?
