RE:
Make bruises go away?
I'd love to know if there is anything that will make some bruises go away faster. Anything that would make them hurt less would be great, but if not, I'd love to at least make the color go away.

I suggest arnica cream. It is VERY good for bruises. However, make sure that you don't apply it on any open wounds, because it can cause you to bleed internally (I'm not sure how much exposure it takes for this to happen, but best not to tempt fate). Health food stores ought to sell it, as well as herbal stores. You can probably also find it on the internet at reputable suppliers.

As others have said, arnica montana and bromelain help. If it has been more than 24 hours, warm moist steam like in the shower helps. Cold is for the first 24 hrs to help keep more swelling from coming in. After 24 hours warm (not hot) moist treatments help the circulation carry the swelling away. Shower steam is perfect. Nothing will instantly take it away. The body has its own healing process it has to go through. You will need concealer for it. Preparation H will reduce the swelling and reduce the discomfort.

Ice can make them hurt less, and massaging can help break up the blood that has pooled beneath the skin causing the bruise to have color. So gently massage it (which won't feel great but will help) and excercise to get the blood moving. They won't go away super fast regardless of what you do, but this can help.....

Bruises are tiny broken blood vessels. Try applying ice several times a day, followed by heat. The ice will contract the vessels, and the heat will help dissipate the blood out of the bruise.

Apply a small dab of toothpaste to the affected area. Then follow this with the old frozen spoon trick (take a spoon and put it in the freezer till the next day; then rub the bruise in a counter-clockwise stroke).

Sorry, brother. There's no way to speed up recovery that fast unless your wolverine. Although if you use antibiotics, you can speed it up to maybe 3 days instead of a week.
