I'd suggest getting one of the HP's Color Laserjets for this. There is a big range from the lower end CLJ2600 series to the bigger ones like the CLJ4600 and to the industrial type 9500.
HP is the leading printing company in the world and you might also want to read about after service support before just buying the cheapest printers.
The price ranges from about US$300 to about US$1200, all color laserjets.
I also found a HP website suitable for schools to do arts and craft stuff too. Lots of creative calendars, greeting cards, etc:

(*est. $400)
>> Where to buy Best color laser printer, budget. In recent color laser printer reviews, the Dell 3100cn is easily the best value, printing better and faster than similar printers from HP, Konica Minolta and Lexmark. Text printing is "superb" and color graphics are "nearly perfect" according to a PC World review. The Dell printer is speedy for the price; text pages print at about 18 pages per minute. Dell's toner cartridges are less expensive and print more pages than others. As with all laser printers, photo printing is not its strong suit. For photos, an inkjet printer is better. The Dell 3100cn has integrated networking, and it works with Windows, Linux and Mac (over TCP/IP). A duplexer (for two-sided printing) is a $300 option. Duty cycle is about 45,000 pages per month. (*est. $400)
• Samsung CLP-510N
(*est. $425)
>> Where to buy Laser printer with duplexer.Although the Dell 3100cn gets better reviews for print quality, the Samsung CLP-510N has an advantage -- it comes with an included duplexer for automatic printing on both sides of the paper; a duplexer is generally a $300 accessory with other printers. If two-sided printing is more important to you than the best print quality, the Samsung laser printer is an excellent value, with a monthly duty cycle of about 35,000 pages. It is compatible with Windows and Linux computers, but not Macintosh. Ethernet networking is included. Text pages print at a zippy 18 pages per minute. The Samsung CLP-510 (*est. $350) is the same model without the networking features. (*est. $425)
• Ricoh Aficio G7500
(*est. $675)
>> Where to buy Best budget tabloid printer. If you need to print church bulletins, circulars or menus, you may want a tabloid printer like the Ricoh Aficio, which can print on 11 x 17-inch paper. Because the Ricoh sprays viscous gel from nozzles, it isn't a true laser printer. However, entry-level tabloid laser printers cost at least $2,000 more. Speeds are slower than for other laser printers (about ten pages per minute for text), and its monthly duty cycle is 10,000 pages rather than 35,000 or more. Still, if you need tabloid printing and can't spend $3,000 for a tabloid-sized laser printer, the Ricoh Aficio is the best choice. A network adapter (*est. $170) is optional. The Ricoh is Windows only. (*est. $675)

You would need a good laser printer for that. HP has several that would be suitable.
