on the day the PS3 came out I saw that some of the console ran for upwards of 20,000 U.S Dollars and remained around that price point for pretty much the remainder of the weekend. Now, on average, the PS3 can be found for around 1,000-2,000 Dollars.

Top price was around $20,000 on the first week it came out. I've been checking for a while now because I want one and they go from $700 to $2000. I think I can wait.

From what I've seen and heard, the price range varies drastically from ~$600 - ~$1200+. Sometimes you just have to be lucky to catch one at a low price.
