More than likely, it means your alternator is not charging properly. You may have a bad alternator or a bad connection somewhere in the charging system. Either way, your battery could be on borrowed time since it is not being properly charged. Have it looked at before the battery is completely dead and leaves you stranded.

it is an alternator light they just show a battery because most people don't know what they look like ....if the voltage regulator does not detest a proper charge condition it turns the light on .....most of the time your battery will go dead soon
