There are other planets on which we can survive. However, there are also other planets on which we could NOT survive. If the gravity on another planet were 200 times greater than the gravity on Earth, we could not survive there (this is but one example).

Yes and no. If you provide a proper breathable atmosphere then yes, however the life expectancy or length wouldn't be the same as here on earth. In fact due to the difference in gravity a normal healthy person may die after only a few years living on a planet with different gravity levels. The strain on the cardio system may be so great on a planet with either to high or to low of gravity that the blood flow is compromised. They hope to experiment with it on the moon and see what happens.

depends on what we take with us for a limited time.
independant survival on other planets is impossible with todays technology.
Water alone is not enough. On earth we depend on almost everything which surrounds us. We are part of a complex supply-chain and i'm not talking about megamalls. i'm talking about other life from bacteria, to plants, animals ... everything.
independant survival would mean putting the same or a sythesized supply-chain up there first.
And since we not yet even learned how to keep our own ressources on earth in good shape it's most likely that mankind is too stupid to live on foreign worlds.

We removed a male from 12th century England for evaluation and he requested to go with us rather than return to the plague ridden England of the 1100s. He visited three other planets with us and settled on the Gonfrix home world. The Gonfrix are such a gentle race. He died there fourteen of your years later (relativistic time). He was home sick at the end.

We wouldn't be able to survive on any other planet or moon in this solar system without taking our environment with us. There may be others in other solar systems where things worked out close to ours where we could just move in.

Hey, they're reopening the moon base project just now, which means.... a manned mission to mars?! The moon base isn't supposed to be manned until 2020 or something though, so Mars is probably even farther off...

As long as there is a constent flow of supplies, Yes.

Or we create an ecosystem that can support ourselves.

But without either of those things, no we can't.
