because they can't control their diaphragm muscles yet. hiccups are a spasm of the diaphragm, it has nothing to do with air in their stomachs

Most of the time they get them because they were not finishing burping and it puts hair in their stomach and they burp to release it. Some people would say they are growing.

I don't know why...and I don't think there's any scientific proof or reasoning. Allz I know is my son got them when he was hungry...... and would sometimes get them when he was too full. Now that he's 10 months, he only gets them when he's been laughs hysterically... WEIRD.

Because of the air on their stomachs they take in while eating.
