My boy have been coughing(mostly at night) and running nose for about 1 month.I took him to the doc.,he would be better for 3 days then the cough comes again.Should I be worry? Its seems like common cold.
Can I let him have his flu vacine while he's still coughing? Thanks

Give him some NyQuil. Green death formula works real good. He will sleep all night too.

It does have to do with him laying down for a long period and the drainage, however small, is irritating his throat and chest. In addition to some of the other suggestions, you can also try giving him a warm, steamy shower or bath before bed and keeping a vaporizer on in his room. Elevate the head of his bed or give him 2 pillows to prop him up a bit so he isn't completely flat in bed. If you can get him to drink some warm fluid - apple juice, tea or something right before bed, it might help. Before giving any more OTC meds, call your ped. A cough can linger for a couple of weeks so they may not want to see him but might be able to give a script for a cough medicine.

Sounds like he has post nasal drip, when he lays down at night the mucous drips from the back of the nose down the throat and causes him to cough. Have you tried children's saline drops, this usually helps quite a bit.
I wouldn't give him any vaccines until this passes.
Dimetapp for infants and children will also dry up the mucous

They will not give flu shot if you are ill in any way.If your son has a runny nose maybe at night when he lies down he is getting drainage down his throat.Try to "prop" his head up a little bit and see if that helps.Good luck.

Your child is cold as in his body temperature. Put a t-shirt or undershirt under his clothes all the time and when he goes to sleep. At night, put a little hat on his head. He will sleep soundly.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I would reccomend that you ask your Doctor these questions.
Let your doctor know he is still sick, mabye the Doctor initially thought it was something that it wasn't.
Please don't risk your child's health by doing something that someone told you to do from the internet.
Take it from me, a fellow parent, I wouldn't ever think of taking the advice of complete strangers, not to mention ones from online, when it comes to my daughter's health.

Don't give your kid over-the-counter medication without consulting your doctor. That moron that said to give him NyQuil is giving you bad advice that may kill your kid.
You really need to bring him to the doctor. Any of us could be anyone. Take him to a pro.
Just a thought though, he could be cutting his wisdom teeth. What you describe is similar to what my kid is going through now and that was what his doctor told us.
