Nothing ever worked for me; I tried it all but I think it will always shed. That's why I stopped buying angora. But I do love it!

When you wash your Angora sweaters (always in cold water, on gentle cycle with mild detergent), make sure you use a liquid fabric softener in the rinse cycle. This will help coat the fibers and "set" them into place. (Then lay them flat to dry--never dry in a drier, or hang them. They will be permanently ruined.)

Also, just before you put on your Angora sweater, run a lint roller all over them. If there are any loose hairs waiting to fall, the lint roller will pick them up and you don't have to worry about them falling on your clothes.

AND, when you wear your Angora sweaters in colder weather, where you must put on a coat overtop, make sure that the coat you use has a SATIN lining. The satin will just slip against the Angora, not encouraging any more hairs to work loose. If you have a material other than satin as the lining, then the courser material rubbing against your Angora sweater is going to encourage more hairs to work loose and coat the rest of your outfit.

This happens to my angora garments and i hate it, thats why i tend to not buy angora of mohair anymore...
But the best way to prevent it , is buy washing it a couple times and then eventually it should stop shredding so much.

You could try spraying it with static guard or with wrinkle-release spray. I can't wear angora or wool because it drives me crazy too.

I don't know of anything that keeps it from shedding. To make it less annoying wear the same color as the rest of your clothing.
