Has anyone ever seen any credible evidence? I've ready many stories online about things that have happened, but there's no way of knowing if they're true.

No, Ouija boards do not "contact the spirit world". They are not "evil". They do not "open a doorway". They do not "summon demons". That's all part of the Ouija board's mythos.

Ouija boards rely on the imperceptible muscular movements of those touching the planchet -- The thing that indicates letters.

Penn and Teller on their Showtime Show, "Bullsh*t" (with the letter I) fully and soundly debunked Ouija boards.

They had a group of people use a Ouija board normally. The planchet indicated words, apparently answered questions, etc. Nobody claimed to be moving the planchet. All very typical.

They then blindfolded the group and, without telling the group, rotated the Ouija board 180 degrees. The board didn't function as it did when the group was not blindfolded. For example, when a Yes/No question was asked, the planchet indicated the spots that "Yes" or "No" had been before the board was rotated. Neither did any words get accurately spelled out by the planchet.

Obviously, either spirits are completely blind or the Ouija board opperates based on the imperceptible muscular actions of the participants.

The term "talking board" is the generic name for a message board with numbers, letters, and a movable message indicator. The message indicator, touched lightly by one or more persons, slides or pivots along the surface of the board to spell out words. Hence, the name "talking board." There is debate about whether the messages come from supernatural entities or are some form of psychological phenomenon originating from the players. Boards using pendulums, fixed spinners, or rolling balls, are not technically "talking boards" although they may have the same effect. Talking boards are also referred to as Ouija boards, witch boards, spirit boards, oracle boards, and most recently, channeling boards. The name "Ouija" is a registered trademark for Parker Brothers' William Fuld Talking Board Set.

When was the first Ouija board invented?
The first "Ouija" board was invented in 1890. Earlier talking boards (alphanumeric tables with rotating pointers), date to the 1850's. We don't see true talking boards much before that.

Anyway,I would not play with it if I were you. It is dangerous.

had a friend who once played with the ouija board, and told me her story, while playing with e board, there was some contact made with a young boy who had died, what had been a nice encounter soon turned to horror, cursing, evil things, and they decided to get rid of the board, so they put it in their car and were taking it away, thn suddenly they heard laughter from the back seat. she said she would never play with the board again. she thought perhaps it was some evil spirit.

No. Of course there has been no proof, because even if it happened (and I don't believe it ever has) it would be impossible to prove. The human sub-conscious is a lot more powerful than people give it credit. I've no doubt that bad things have happened as a result of people using Ouija boards, but its NOT because the super-natural is involved. People can often FOOL THEMSELVES into believing things that are logical impossibilities. Remember how scared you would get when you were a child? Well some people replace their fear of the dark and the boogie man with something more socially acceptable and adult. Things that can NEVER be DISproven such as ghosts etc. are the adult version of 'the monster in your closet'. If bad things happen because people use Ouija boards it's either a coincidence or has been a result of people acting through a fear they have cast upon themselves.

Absolutely YES. It is the act of invitation in agreement with others that draws demonic spirits. This board was originally known as a Planchette Board. The practice has been around for many centuries, but the modern version we now see was devised by Kenneth Planchette, who eventually killed himself before Parker Brothers received the rights to the Board design. The name "Ouija" was given to the board by Planchette, who claims that he was instructed by the spirit of the board to give it this name. It is well known by deliverance ministers and spiritists alike that you must give a spirit permission or invitation, either verbally or by your actions, to enter into your life. The name of the board is taken from two words in two different languages: "Oui" in French and "Ja" in German. Both words mean "yes" in their respective languages. So by calling on the name of Ouija, the participant is actually saying, "Yes, yes."

There are an abundance of people who have witnessed spiritual invasion into their personal and family's lives after playing with this board. The movie "The Exorcist" was based on a true story that also involved a Ouija Board. The board in itself has no power to contact the spirit realm; it is the act of agreement by the participants. A newspaper article a number of years ago told of a group of prisoners who once made a simulated Ouija board out of plain paper, and the results of using it frightened them so badly that they all required counseling by the prison chaplain.

The spiritual realm is real, the demonic kingdom is real, and the board can indeed open the door to interaction with them. The stories you are reading about people's experiences are most likely true (I speak as a Christian deliverance counselor), but unless you are willing to believe them, the only way to prove it empirically is to experience it for yourself. I would STRONGLY recommend against it. There are much safer, beneficial ways to experience the spirit realm.

There would be no way of knowing if these answers are true either. However, my own experience with this board (tool) was enough to scare me always. I have seen the triangle move about so quickly that the hands of the users (one of which were mine) were flown off of the board while it continued to move. In a nutshell we were told by the "board" that it lies. It begins with telling you the truth about little things and once it draws you in ; it begins to lie. Typical demon behavior.

A few years ago a group of students in Germany made a homemade version of the game using a cup and slips of paper with the alphabet . It wasn't long before the parents of the children found that they weren't attending school only to be found at home hiding in closets and such because of the game.

I have long since avoided the part of my family that uses books such as "The Devil's Diary" which hasn't a named author but contains many scary rituals etc...and a host of other demonic things.
I began destroying the pieces of the Board at a young age whenever I came across it. Studied about Jesus and have been free of all that was part of that demonic world for a long time.

If you haven't ever seen credible evidence then count yourself fortunate. You aren't missing anything good. Once you open yourself up to that demonic spirit world it is very difficult to root them out of your life.

if you mean demonds yes, but not dead people. That is impossible (bible) I think most people think when the try and contact a "spirit" they are going to contact somone who had died. When in reality it is a demond. A lot of bad things have happend from trying to contact them. At heart, the ouija board is nothing devilish. Its just a board. But when used as a tool to try and contact "spirits" bad shi$ can happen. Im sure you've read about it. Ive never heard of anything good comming from it. If you want to find out what "ghosts" or "spirits" are all about just visit a haunted place. Im sure you will think tis evil then...

First, the idea of the ouija boad dates back to Pythagoras (540 BCE). Second, the generally accepted answer is that responses come from the subconscious mind, not from any outside agency. Wiki has a good article on the subject:

The ouija board can NOT contact spirits. The person "playing" with it has the power to do so, the board is only a mediator so to speak.

Ouija boards are cardboard and ink, nothing more than that. If you're psychic they can be used -- like a gazing ball or tarot cards, etc. -- to project your own psychic awareness. All the power is in you, not in objects. Superstitions about the board are just childish ignorance. Frightened people will project frightening results; the user always has control.
