"I will always love you" is about two people breaking up. What on Earth is romantic about that?

You probably consider "I Honestly Love You" by Olivia Newton-John to be a romantic love song too. But it's a song about 2 people cheating on their spouses.

And while we're at it, how about "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi. I went to enough weddings where people actually had that song as their wedding song. It's about a guy who cheats and lies and ignores his wife for so many years.

And then there's the classic "Your Song" by Elton John. It's a beautiful song. But it's about a man whose father dies. It has nothing to do with romance.

*SIGH*

Doesn't anyone know what romance or love songs are any more?
