I was thinking about a bacon blanket, but not sure. I've seen one in a photo and it looked nice. Any other idea?

definately butter under the skin, helps to keep it really moist. also make sure you baste it regularly too, so the skin crispens up. A bacon blanket is good, especially with smoked streaky bacon, or a parma ham wrap is good too...

I put a little butter under the skin on mine and then cover it with bacon for the first part of baking. Remove the bacon about half an hour before taking the turkey from the oven. The bacon flavor isn't overwhelming and the gravy will be delicious.

Christmas turkey, bring back an old sitcom that used to be funny, write a scipt full of old catchphrases and make it into a christmas special, that will make the perfect christmas turkey

Inject it with a half a pound of butter. Guaranteed to put most of your relatives in hospital with hardened arteries. Works faster than bacon.
