Well, I'm a Muslim and here you go:-

We also (sent) Lut: he said to his people: "Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? "For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds." And his people gave no answer but this: they said, "drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!" But We saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who lagged behind. And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime! (The Holy Quran, 7:80-84)

That's the point of view about Gayness, there is no proof from God that he created Gayness in people I mean that it's not told in Quran but on the other hand it's told that Sodom was destroyed because of the gayness of it's population.

check the link below, it may help.

Peace :)

I am not a muslim, but I know plenty of them and I have been approached by 3 of them to allow me favours from them if I were so inclined to use them. I now live in a big city and I became friends with many people from all walks of life and some were as I now know gay as I work and there is no discrimination against them where I work. I have honestly been asked if I wanted a B J several times in the past month from 3 of them and it is very embarassing to say the least. So it must be OK among them to do it this way as there is proof of it right at this place of work and there are only 5 of them that are muslims there. The other 2 know they are gays and they seem to be OK when they hear them talking about guys. This is a construction site too, not a prissy office or a hairdressing salon.

Well, according to a book a read that claims to be a princess from Saudi Arabia, I'd say that the feeling of conservative Islam is that the acts should be punished by death but I believe moderates certainly exist. Now of course Christian bible says the same thing in old testament and most Christians don't take that, so I guess you may find moderate Muslims are not so hard on them.

You can try ask the Muslim Congress to obtain liberal Muslim view. Conservative one is very harsh.

(A book not loved by Muslims but by a Muslim lesbian, certainly says things consistant with what I've said as to what the conservative view is. Her book is called, the problem with Islam Today. She has many Muslim critics but I've not heard any condemn her description of the treatment of homosexuality but the religion. On the other hand, some have condemned her lifestyle.)

Well, irrespective of the fact that most of the non-muslim population of this world try to raise unnecessary questions out of nowhere about Islam (like 4 marriages for men, Talaaq [Divorce Issue] and Jihad), they have to accept that Islam is a descent religion preaching peace and showing path to several issues "normally".
About gay population, I personally don't feel that any "normal" religion would allow gay or lesbian population.
Try to first understand the ABC is Islamic teachings. The rest of the issues will become automatically clear to you. It is like constructing a high-rise building without a base. It will come crashing down if there isn't any base. However, if the base is strong, then your building will last for years.
Good luck.
