I have taken 1000mg's a day, along with 1000mg's of Vitamin C. These 2 you can't overdose on, your body will eliminate what you don't use. And I took it under the advice of a Dr. of Naturopath to combat depression. However, these are expensive. A month's supply is quite pricey.

And you are right to check for dosages, some supplements such as zinc, can definitely be toxic. (Zinc is the toxin in a rattlesnake bite) So be sure to follow label directions and even consult someone schooled in the use of supplements.

Peace.

Hey. Very low B12 intakes can cause anaemia and nervous system damage. The only reliable vegan sources of B12 are foods fortified with B12 (including some plant milks, some soy products and some breakfast cereals) and B12 supplements. Vitamin B12, whether in supplements, fortified foods, or animal products, comes from micro-organisms. Most vegans consume enough B12 to avoid anaemia and nervous system damage, but many do not get enough to minimise potential risk of heart disease or pregnancy complications. To get the full benefit of a vegan diet, vegans should do one of the following: Eat fortified foods two or three times a day to get at least three micrograms (µg or mcg) of B12 a day. Take one B12 supplement daily providing at least 10 micrograms. Take a weekly B12 supplement providing at least 2000 micrograms.

Vitamin B is used by your body and excess is excreted. Vitamins A,D,E, and K are fat soluable and they are stored by your liver. You CAN take too much of these. Hope you feel better soon!

According to the site I put in my source: "B12 has very low toxicity and high intakes are not thought to be dangerous."

If all your blood work is normal about 2000mg of sublingual B-12 should be fine

i dont think you can take too much b12, our bodies dont absorb it that well so most of it is excreted anyway
