Until I was 23, I lived in India and never saw snow, although I could have done so by travelling to the Himalayan regions in the far north. Within two months of arriving in Philadelphia in 1960, I saw my first flakes and remember how mysterious it was and exciting. And I heard Bing Crosby's rendering of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas". Shakespeare or one of his characters spoke of someone being pure as the driven snow. (An actress not noted for strict morality said she was pure as the driven slush.) Another poet spoke of a snowy atmosphere as a loose moth world. The yoking of snow and Christmas is time-hallowed. There are regions where it never snows and regions where it almost stops snowing.

No, probably not in the great state of Mississippi. Can you believe that it is almost sixty degrees and it is only seven in the morning here???? I really doubt we will ever see any snow. The last time it snowed (more than a few flakes) was the day I found out I was pregnant with my youngest son. He is FIVE now. So that was six years ago.

Yes, we usually have snow for 3-4 months a year here in Canada and I find it very beautiful.

I wish!!!! I'm stuck in horrid Florida, it will probably rain.
I was hoping to make it up to New York for Christmas so I could see snow, but it looks like I will be stuck in this tropical climate for winter once more......
