I know this sounds daft but I once sent a monitor back because it wasnt working and all the guy did was turn up the brightness on the control on the screen - just check you haven't nudged it or moved it down - colour/brightness/etc are either little buttons or dials on your actual monitor - give it a try first.

Sounds like your monitor is failing?? Try borrowing a different monitor, if that fixes your prob.. your good to go buy a new monitor.

That generally means your monitor is crashing. Look at getting a new one soon.

Does your monitor have any contrast and other adjustments? If not, then try the other suggestions by hooking up another monitor.
