This would be wearing both on the same chain hanging together. An Italian once said it did. I'm not superstitious, but do believe in some things to a certain degree, so if this is true for the time I have been wearing them, I'll gladly separate the two from hanging on my neck 24/7.

Does anyone know for sure? Can you reference something on the internet or such that may explain this futher?

Wearing a Corss has nothing to do with "bad Luck". Secondly, you cant say "i believe in God .. and at the same time, i dont" .. either you believe in God or you Dont. God gives you all the power you need, if you dont trust in Him, you will never find yourself with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. the thing is each one of them represents something different and you cannot serve two Gods at the same time
