Wifi is wireless communication.
They way it typically works is... You already have a broadband connection into your home or office (either cable, satellite, T1, or DSL). Currrently, the internet connection plugs into a modem and then into your computer. With wifi, you would plug the modem into a wireless router (a small box with antennas), instead of from the modem into the computer. The wireless router will then broadcast your internet to a small area. If you have a computer (or many comptuers) that have a Wifi card in them, your computer will be able to use that air signal to connect to the internet, or other computers in your network.
Additionally, if you have a laptop (or pda) that has a Wifi connection, and you go out (say to a coffee shop), they may have one of those wireless routers for you to connect to as well, and then you can access the internet or network from there too.

Short for ‘wireless fidelity’. A term for certain types of wireless local area networks (WLAN) that use specifications conforming to IEEE 802.11b. WiFi has gained acceptance in many environments as an alternative to a wired LAN. Many airports, hotels, and other services offer public access to WiFi networks so people can log onto the Internet and receive emails on the move. These locations are known as hotspots

WiFi is acronym for term Wireless Fidelity. WiFi is known as wireless local area network operating in license free ISM 2.4GHz band. This network is defined by the standard IEEE 802.11b of indoor wireless LANs. WiFi means compatibility and interoperability between products of different vendors that passed appropriate tests.
Devices in the network communicate within wireless cell with radius typically up to 150 metres in free space. Bandwidth available on a channel (11Mbps for IEEE802.11b, three independend channels) is shared by all stations within the wireless cell. WiFi networks are getting very popular for high speed access to Internet in public places called wireless hotspots.

Wi-Fi (also WiFi, wifi, etc.) is a brand originally licensed by the Wi-Fi Alliance® to describe the underlying technology of wireless local area networks (WLAN) based on the IEEE 802.11 specifications. It was developed to be used for mobile computing devices, such as laptops, in LANs, but is now increasingly used for more services, including Internet and VoIP phone access, gaming, and basic connectivity of consumer electronics such as televisions and DVD players, or digital cameras. More standards are in development that will allow Wi-Fi to be used by cars in highways in support of an Intelligent Transportation System to increase safety, gather statistics, and enable mobile commerce (see IEEE 802.11p). Wi-Fi® and the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ logo are registered trademarks of the Wi-Fi Alliance® - the trade organization that tests and certifies equipment compliance with the 802.11x standards.

I'm no longer going to puppy you for asking that question. It's comprehensible. Maybe take a look at a wi-fi antenna improve if you are getting your WiFi from different persons. Some antenna's paintings larger for particular instances -- seem it up, investigate it out.
