Beaches are caused by erosion. This is the wind and the water breaking down the land formation, and creating the sand. In some areas, beaches are created by the trucking in of sand, to expand the beach. This becomes an ongoing project, as the sand is washed away. A change in the geographic outline of the area, may effect the size of the beach, as it may interrupt or change the affect of the wind and water on the land.
