not much to add to what other peeps said here, but have in mind one thing: barcelona has public bank holidays 25th and 26th too, there won't be too many stores open, no idea how long you have in mind to stay, but just for info and in case you wanted to do shopping, bit restricted those days.
get the sightseeing bus, there are 2 diff. routes, 17 euros one day, 22 euros for 2 days and just get on and off the bus whereever you like, it's well worth it. recommend the nights at the olympic port, go and see Gaudi's buildings, touch of culture too *lol* and enjoy barcelona, its a lovely city - just something more: the stadium is called Camp Nou and you can't argue prices, at least not at the stores, this is not a morrocan bazar

Parc Guell is nice and will not be as crowded as in the summer
Sagrada familia cathedral is also good, you get great views of the city, but it is the world's biggest building site. It left me wondering how stunning it will be when finished.
Go to the Olympic park to see the fontana magica, a fountain with lights and music, my boyfriend was transfixed.
For Zara at New Look prices, try Sfera on Placa Espanya
A couple of nice clubs are in Mare Magnum near the port. There is also ski cabin style ride above the port, but I didn't get time to go on it.
Montserrat is an interesting day out too
Watch out for pickpockets and rip off schemes, especially giving you change from 10euros when you have given them 20
Visit the erotic museum on La Ramblas, if only to see hordes of Italian teenagers giggling (they always seem to be Italian)

Barcelona is well cool!
Try to get up to the olympic stadium - every night at 9pm they have the Magical Fountain - a magical display of music, lights & water.
If you are into music, the Palace of music (central) is well worth a visit. There's loads more there - check out tourist information b4 you go.
