Pro wrestling is more of an entertainment than a sport, hence, World Wrestling Entertainment. My brother is a semi-pro wrestler and the matches are predetermined. They know who is going to win and basically how it is going to be done. But what you see is real, they really can't fake a chair to the head. And the blood that you see is real too, even though they cut themselves with a small blade. So to answer your question, it is a mix of both acting and real, the story lines are made up but the physical part is real, think of it as a soap opera!! :)

I like to refer to it as "choreographed wrestling"...it is real as to the fact that they can get seriously hurt. Yes, they usually decide who's going to win before the match. It's a show...it's for entertainment purposes. They do need to be able to do the moves properly so they don't hurt their opponent.

The outcomes are predetermined, but the actual physical ability these guys have is real. Along with a lot of acting, these guys are pretty good athletes, especially for how big they are!
