Run it along some large metal object like a radiator, it removes some of it but not all. Best way is to rewash the object and use fabric conditoner during the wash to prevent future static.

Dry it with Bounce or some other type of fabric softener sheet. If it is already dry and you can't wash it again before wearing it (or you got static after drying it), spray with aerosol hairspray. If it's a skirt, wearing a slip will help keep it from sticking to your legs when you walk.

There's a product called Static Guard, comes in a dark blue spray can. Works great. If you can't find it, try a little hair spray, the only drawback to this is you will definitely have to clean the garment afterwards.

You can use dryer sheets, found commonly in the supermarkets. That would be good.
