The least common factor (LCF) of two or more numbers is the smallest common factor of each number. For example the LCF of 21 and 63 is 3 because 21= 3*7 and 63 = 3*3*7.

The gretest Commonn factor (GCF) is the largest fctor common to each number. In the above example, you can see that 7 is the GCF.

If you have 2 numbers then the greatest common factor is the largest number that is devisable of both.

For example:
If you had 2 numbers (12 and 3)
12 can be divided by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12
30 can be divided by 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15 and 30

Notice that 1,2,3 and 6 appear in both lists? So, the common factors of 12 and 30 are: 1, 2, 3 and 6

The greatest common factor is the highest of those numbers (6) and the lowest is the opposite (1).
