i've got around 4 months left before finishing my AS Level in China and my father is insisting me to go to (England, Lancing college) after getting AS Level Certification. Yes, i do want to go abroad, but just not to England, any othercountries would be fine. But what can i do? Does anyone of you know anything about England or Lancing college? Defects would be fine.. I've argued so much with my father, but it just didn't seem to work at all! the admission for the entrance is going to close within a month, so i have to change my father's mind fast.. thanks for your attention.

Well, why don't you want to go to England? And where would you like to go? You could try applying to other colleges in other countries, but these colleges will have to offer you more than Lancing College already does (better reputation, more scholarship money, better academics, etc). This way you could win your argument. In the end, you need to understand why it is that you don't want to go to England and have an honest and sincere conversation with your father about your reasons. You may also realize that going to England is not as bad after all.

How do you know what Lancing is like? You were never there?? Surely it cannot be SO awful (from your web search) and your dad thinks it is good for you. Odd!!

If you are adamant and belligerent (look THOSE up,) with your Father, he may refuse to fund you on your college education. I would take the money away if you were too argumentative.

You would be crazy to give up the opportunity to see England. CRAZY!.

Now, is there some deeper reason you do not want to come to England? You have a boyfriend in France?

You must obey your father I think. When you get here, maybe you can transfer to another college.

well... by looking at the college website. it is actually a prep school for students 13-18 years old. not an actually University. Is there a specific reason why your father wants you to go there? If you are looking for a college/university program, then you might want to check some other school. Any reason why you don't want to go to England? Colleges in the US I am sure would suit your needs. America has some of the best ranked colleges in the world. if you want to find a college program in America, you can send me a message. I teach in China now and have already helped a couple of my students go abroad.

The best way to not go to Lancing college is to not mail your application BUT you need to go to college somewhere. So just apply to colleges that you want to go to and when your father asks you about Lancing college, just tell him that you didn't hear anything back but you did get into "blah blah" college and you want to go there. That way you haven't ruined your future, and you're just going to go to college where you really want to go. Good luck.
