Everytime I press my brakes, my Ford Focus starts to shake and I just wanted to know what the problem is before I travel with the car so that it doesn't stop working on the highway or something.

Could be many things....
brake pads
rotors could be warped
tires might not be mounted properly

you should get it checked before you drive anywhere far.

Sounds like your brakes are warped. Once the brake is warped, every time you put the brakes on, the warped section will push against the pads and send a vibration or a shake through the car.
The only options you have if this is the case is to see if the disc can be machined even again, or you may have to replace the disc.

It could be that you need a wheel alignment. Check the condition of your front tires. They should be wearing evenly with a little wear on the sides. Next, check the brake check valve on the power brake booster make sure the vacuum hoses going to it are in good condition. Also, make sure the wheels are properly balanced. How many miles does it have? It may also be time for a minor tune-up. Hope this helps, jess.

You aren't in any danger. But what you need to do is have your brakes serviced because you may either have a bad bearing somewhere on the drivetrain, or simply your tires may be out of balance. Either way, have your brake pads checked and the fluid levels correctly filled. If that doesn't help, you may have a problem with your power steering, but it won't go that far. I had a similar problem with my Nissan and all I did was just adjust the drums and it was fine.

Most likely your brake rotors are warped. This happens as they are under high heat conditions on a regular basis. You can take it to a shope and either have them turned (if they are not worn down too much) or replaced. It does affect stopping power, but right now it is probably too little for you to notice. Take care of the problem before it worsens, though.

More than likely you have warped the brake rotors. The best way to repair them is to have the rotors resurfaced. I would highly recommend getting the shaking fixed before you travel as the pulsation in the rotors is similar to anti-lock brake engagement and increases your stopping distance.

It sounds like your front rotors are warped. The rotor is the round disc that the brakes tighten on to stop your car. If they're not too bad it may be okay to machine them down. If not they'll need to be replaced. I just went through the same thing.

Bleed the braking equipment. One part of the wheels isn't getting sufficient brake fluid, however the different element is prevalent. what is going to take place is that the automobile will shake or the automobile will turn somewhat.

It could possible the front end needs alignment, or it may be time to buy new tires. Another possibility is that it may be time to replace the brake pads.
