NO...unless the employer is very friendly with the workers and knows them very well and gets them gifts on an individual basis and knows a religious item would perfectly suit a certain person. But if its a blanket gift for the whole office, then certainly NOT.

If an employer is willing to give a gift the employee should take it. If the only thing wrong is it is a religious gift and you do not like it. Then give it away as you would any other gift you get and don't like. So many employers don't even recognize their employees be glad they care enough to give you a gift.

If it is not a State or Federal employer, then a religious gift is fine if that is what the employer wants to give.

You can always recycle it and get something fun...

Never look a gift horse in the mouth. Its very disrespectfull. If someone gives you a gift, say thank you, people need to be mature enough to not take it as an assault on their beliefs, or lack thereof.

if the employer is going to give a gift...then they should give what ever they want...if the person receiving the gift doesn't like it...just take it back and give nothing to the ungrateful person...

Yes only if they know their employee(s) very well.

If they are not sure, then NO they should stick to practical gifts - like pen sets, gift certificates, paper weights, unique tea cup, unique special drinking glass etc.

Something practical and non personal.

That depends, christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, then you have Hanukah, the festival of lights, for Jewish religion, now there is kwansa for black-Americans ,so if it was I , a simple box of chocolates is fine! Good luck.
