Yes it is possible. All information provided by you to the landlord and gives the LL the right to verify it. They can ask if the the amount you make (info provided by you) is correct, but they cannot ask directly how much you make and expect the employer to tell him. They may call your bank and verify that the funds are available on a check you gave him, but they cannot ask the balance and a bank will not give them the balance either.
If the bank and your employer gives them the information the wrong way, they can be sued. Its called privacy . They can only confirm what the LL already knows.

Did your tenant sign a release of information with his/her application to lease from you? If so, then, yes, you can acquire this information, however, a bank will not give you this information over the phone, you will have to provide them a copy of the signed release. Most employers prefer to have you fax a copy of the signed release to verify dates of hire as well.

Anyone with sufficient computer knowledge can get a lot of info with a social security number.
The bank cannot legally reveal personal information to third parties, and would lose much of their clientele if they didn't maintain confidentiality.

I'm sure it would be possible if they have your s.s.#,but you would probably have to also sign some type of release because I don't think the bank would just give out that info to just anyone.I don't understand why a landlord would need that info anyway, sounds kind of strange.
