Daughter will be looking for a College next year and we are looking for a school. Of course we are wanting to avoid the typical liberal scum schools. Myself & wife were forced into liberal college and we have the bad memories to go with it. We know the game...keep your mouth shut and agree with the professors and their rants just to get the grades...I've asked other parents too and they seem to have the same concerns. It just seems these liberal radicals seem to dominate the colleges...I guess because they can't survive in the "real" world. As the saying goes "Those who can do it...those who can't... teach it".

Any suggestions

First, drop the "liberal scum" bull. She's going to college not you. Why can't you trust her to make choices on her own? Don't trust her? College USED to be where you learned some critical thinking. Just what is a typical liberal scum school? Does that mean all the students are liberal scum? Sounds like you get all your information from right wing hacks.

I went to Purdue which is in a fairly conservative, mainly agricultural area. The liberals were there too. Most schools its hard to avoid them. Unfortunatly they make their presence known. The problem with most schools is there is alot of ignorant spoiled kids there with nothing better to do. I took a fwe political science courses and such and didnt run into any of those wacko professors. I would have walked right out. Then again it was a little different back then, 9/11 happened my freshman year so no one was spewing their garbage back then. Depending on the field she wants to go to, some smaller state colleges in the midwest are quite nice. I can talk to some of my friends back home who went to different schools and see what they have to say. Im currently working on starting back with school through online classes, which are nice. But dont havbe a choice, its hard to take normal classes while serving overseas. There are some nice online programs at alot more schools these days also if that is an option.

I wish I could help you but it seems nearly impossible. My husband and I went to Ohio public colleges about 30 years ago and had the same experience, "shut up and spit back the liberal rantings if you want to pass this class."
Now, my teens are experiencing the same in our Republican-majority conservative town in Florida, in both middle school and high school. The teacher unions are heavy contributors to the Democratic party and teachers are always looking for higher wages and less working hours. My kids have had to hear about how Bush is our worst president and the war is wrong, etc.
Other parents have the same concerns as we do. Our general conclusion is to teach our children the differences in values of teachers and other people in general. It must be working because my kids are not self-absorbed and wild. They are good kids in spite of others' propaganda.

I have the impression that Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan would be the kind of college you are looking for.

They are promoted by some conservative talk show hosts.

They receive no government funds or influence.
