Back-Ground Image?

I am working on XSL-FO. I have to generate a PDF file with an image as a background. The image I am using is larger than the A4 size. I want to know is there any way how to set the image size to fit into A4 size page. I have used method but I am unable to write unto that image. I want Text as Foreground. Please Help.

Use a graphic editor to resize the picture to A4 size before you import it into the PDF file. Then no conversion will be need in the file itself.

Simply start with an A4 sized image - crop it in another program before you begin.
