Why are reddish-haired people accused of smelling?

I've been a reddish-haired person and have known many other reddish-haired people for 49 years and have never heard such an ignorant statement. Are you sure you're not demented? Perhaps you are smelling your own rotten breath?

They're only accused of smelling by stupid, immature school kids in playgrounds. Of course, red haired people don't smell any more than blondes or brunettes.

oh..so it is the red-haired people. I thought that smell came from the blond-haired, green-eyed men who were under 5'3" and weighed more than 220 lbs.
Well...I guess I should apologize for all those nasty letters I wrote to those people who do not actually smell bad.

All humans have a musky odor. It actually attracts the other sex, to help
maintain survival of the species.
One mans whiskey is another mans poison. We have individual
characteristics as humans. Sense of smell, tase buds. What one finds offensive, another might find appealing!

Don't know. My father is Irish and has the brightest orange/red hair I have ever seen and he certainly doesn't smell.

I've never heard that before. I thought red hair was supposed to be sexy. If you had red hair and never bathed, then I guess you'd smell.

i think you made it up. or someone said you stink and you assumed it was because they were bigoted against redheads
