How do scientists know we only use 10% of our brains? Why not 15% or 6%?

Supposedly by testing, and in those tests judging by the brain activity thy came up with that, so I guess deep down we're all idiots???

because they are scientists and that is what they do. It is their job to figure things out like that. I am sure that it has been studied extensivly.
