Sorr i so cant spell - Question was meant to be Whos baby is it!!
I am seeking professional help and my husband and i have decided not to have a paternity test, as my husband says no matter whos it is he will always treat it as his own.
I just worry that the rapist will try to cause trouble if he thinks its his.

The baby is definitely not the rapists. Once released your egg only remains viable for fertilisation for 12-24 hours. After this time there is no chance of conception occuring. Sperm can survive for 5 days in your most fertile mucus. So it is likely that you had sex with your husband sometime between the 13th and the 18th. Anything after that would not result in conception.

I am so sorry that you were raped. I hope that you were able to get the guy prosecuted.

Pregnancy is such a joyful time, and just shows how good can come after something so evil.

So sorry for your situation.

Condoms are practically foolproof, however, mishandling or misusing a condom still has you open to pregnancy.

You haven't mentioned if your husband uses condoms or what other contraception you use. If the two of you use none, or you are on the pill and haven't been using it correctly, then he will almost definitely be the child's father- as long as the rapist did not tear the condom or any direct sexual contact was made (especially after ejaculation).

If your family are aware of the rape, they may already have considered this possibility and respecting your privacy by not mentioning it.

I hope I'm not crossing the line here when I say I hope you have made the police aware of the matter and have had STD tests to make sure you and your baby are not at risk.

Can't say how sorry I am for your predicament. I hope everything works out okay and how you want it to.

This is a tough one! You are always going to wonder. But I presume you had councelling and have the support of your family? It is hopefully just a bizaar coincidence. A condom is pretty safe and the chances are you may have been pregnant already! I think you should have a discussion with your husband, as you need to go through this pregnancy with a happy heart and united. If there is any room for doubt and unhappy thoughts, you need to seek councelling! With todays scan's they are almost 100% accurate, and you will only know for sure once the baby is born! But if you can andare forgetting your ordeal, and your husband is not worried ....its a baby at the end of the day, who will need a loving mom and dad .... You ans your husband have to stand united though and I think you really do need to talk about the possibilities! I hope it all works out for you ... good luck

The 18th of August could be an estimate, since conception could actually happen within a 2 day period of ovulation, and condoms are not 100% effective, so there is a very slight chance that the baby could belong to the rapist. I hope you reported the rape!

I agree that you should wait for a paternity test. Boy I feel so sorry for you because of this terrible act and then not only are you debating on telling your family, you're probably struggling with if, when and how to tell the child. For now I recommend on waiting you may find that all of the circumstances will work out fine. Please seek help when you feel the overwhelming need to discuss your feelings. Some insurances offer free pyshological help for at least four sessions which may be all you need for a while. Then surround yourself with good friends. I certainly wish you and your family greater closeness inspite of this situation.

there is nothing that the rapist can do. he can't get custody no matter how hard he tries. so don't worry about it. conception dates are usually based on the date of your last period. however they can be up to two weeks wrong in either direction. the chances of haveing a baby with only having sex once and while using protection is slim to none. don't worry your having your husbands baby.

The baby is probably going to be your husbands. A rapist who raped you 2 days later would be impossible. It is most definetely your husbands baby, unless the hospital timing was off, then it was probably the rapist. Hope they don't call you.

I guess the part that confuses me, is that if you were raped...why would the rapist...cause trouble?

Wouldn't he be avoiding being caught at all costs???

Have you pressed charges?

Maybe he'll be in prison, and you'll never have to worry either way.

Try to remain stressfree...you're having a baby !!!

I would guess it's your husbands although what really concerns me is that you family don't know you've been raped (maybe I'm wrong but surely if you've been raped and are now pregnant, they would put 2 and 2 together and would be supporting you). I really hope you're pressing charges.
