because it is racist....but for no apparent reason. but it's ok if you pick whatever smaller ethnic group you might have come from, like italian, German, Gaelic, and celebrate that.

you can be proud of who you are, but if you get a tattoo of it, then you magically transform into a racist

Good question,it is called Reverse Discrimination against whites in general.
Many good hard working white people have been denied jobs and/or promotions because of affirmative action policies .
I think the trend is cyclical and some day we will all be equal in the eyes of employers and governments, when that day will happen who knows, maybe never.
Whites are generally known as racist even though most are not,and if a white person works in an area with many minorites, discrimination is against that person because of his white skin color.
I have experienced reverse discrimination in the workplace because of my white skin working with minorities on various occasions in my work life, and can understand what black people must have felt back in the early part of the 20th century.
Inner pride of your heritage is important no matter what your race or background is,but it is not neccesary to wear a t shirt stating it..I have seen t shirts saying I'm Polish and proud..or on St. Patrick's day ..I'm proud to be Irish..I guess those are ok..
Oh yeah I am Polish and Irish lol.

Minority pride can also apply to situations where a group of people is a minority. The kid was probably kicked out because he was not a member of a minority group! You may not talk of black pride where blacks constitute the majority. Exhibiting actions, behavior or shows of pride are often healthy reactions against forms of domination and exclusion. As bell hooks observes: "To be in the margin is to be part of the whole but outside the main body." Hence again probably the kid in white was not kicked out because he was expressing white pride but wearing a white shirt was unacceptable when and where another color was required.

When minorities express pride for their ethnicity, it means esteam for ones ethnicity. This is due to what ever opression their race has suffered in the past and its like a pep-rally, but on a larger level of meaning. When someone says White-Pride it is taken as arrogance and vanity, not esteam for ethnicity.

Myself being of black ethnicity, understand that white people want to say white pride, and encourage it. But this would not be widely accepted because most minorities feel that white people don't need to express their esteam, because they see no oppression in the history of White America.

I wish that this didn't have to be such a conflicting issue in America, but I hope it gives you some understanding

Because people are screwed up. Most ethnic groups brag about their race, but if a white person does it, Well, you already know the answer to that one. I usually don't pay any attention to those people anymore anyway. I once had a black person ask me if I knew anything about black history, Well, of course I don't, why should I, it's not my heritage. What does that same person know about Irish history, or Native Indian history. Not a d*mn thing. See what I mean?

White pride and degradation of other races have been going on for centuries. Claiming white pride releases all the hatred from the early 1900s with the white supremacy groups.

Read history.

Exactly! But to be honest there is more discrimination against whites! And more racism against whites also. I am going to get me a shirt "You wear your X I'll wear mine!" I am white by the way. Just beautifully tanned :) To be honest black is the only race I can't stand! Most blacks are gansters!

He can be white and proud, and no one will get him in trouble for that. But if he runs around saying "white power," then it has a supremacist connotation.
