In the US hit www.score.org for some advice. It is a practical site in partnership with the Small Business Administration. This is where you go to make a dream a reality not to bounce crazy ideas off other entreprenuers or hit anyone up for cash. This is real world stuff. Success in business is more sweat than imagination at the end of the race.
