Studying to be a Civil Engineer myself. Once I leave Uni then there is all the Continuing Professsional Development and it is not until the PE exam (which no-one passes first time) that I can get chartered and earn proper dosh.
Fact of the matter is that until then I can earn more by bricklaying, but I would be bored shitless.
Besides Architects get paid loads seeing all they seem to do is draw a picture, swan about looking important and snatch all the credit!

Very little that you study in college will ever be used in your daily business life as an architect. So enjoy a broad range of studies and spend as much time doing drawings of things that interest you. When you are at anyone's house, ask what they like best about the layout of their home. Do the same when you are at an office building or warehouse..

i cant tell what do u mean by little pay, but i can tell u one thing as my girlfriend is studying her masters degree as an architect. all in all she will study for 6 years.
n she used to work on summer holiday in uk, n was earning 10 GBP per hour as an assistant in architect company. while her colligues were earning as much as 18-20GBP per hour....
is it too little pay???

I'm just about to enter uni and I think that the pay is ok. Like it's supposed to be rather good.
