I saw an history channel "Raise the Alabama." They were all fixated on the cannon, etc., but not one word about the steam engine. I checked answers.com, wiki, naval history, etc. All they have in the specification section is "Steam Engine." Does anyone have a link or know what the ship's power plant specs were? Who was the manufacturer? What pressures did it run? Was it compound? How many cylinders? Throttled or automatic cutoff? Did it use a condenser?

+ here is a web site that may help. I think if you looked up the original builders that are listed on the web site you might get even more technical info on the ship
