The vast majority of English language channels in Europe are available from the Astra cluster at 28oE.

The easiest way to get these without a subscription is to get FreesatfromSky for a one off cost of about £150. With this you will get the 5 terrestrial channels, plus many more. This option is only available to people in the UK and Ireland.

Alternatively, if you have a satellite receiver that is not a branded Sky one, or are not based in the UK or Ireland, you will need to tune it in yourself.

A full list of frequencies can be found in this link:

However, you will not be able to get Channels 4 or 5 as these are scrambled and only Sky receivers can decode these signals. Also, if you are not in the UK or Ireland you may have trouble receiving the BBC and ITV channels without a very large dish as they are transmitted on a beam that is not intended to be received outside of the British Isles.

you could possibly get Sky satellite tv for pc channels(there is not any different priceless determination),the two the freeview channels, or unofficially, the pay channels. you will choose a dish of a minimum of a million.5 metres. superb to discover a community installer, to propose you.

What you really mean is that you have acquired a dish and all the bits and want to try to set it up yourself without paying for the contract......go on admit it.

You could try picking the brains of an engineer for the location of the satellite or eavesdropping when someones having an installation. Just fiddling around and pointing the dish the same way as the rest of the dishes on the street isnt enough.

satellite times or some other independent TV guides have horizontal and vertical settings for most UK and other TV channels just type them in but your dish does have to positioned right
