You shouldn't have to totally reinstall windows.

Try this tool:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=50346&clcid=0x409
Or this tool:
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml

Otherwise, you should be able to manually edit it in the registry:
Your registration information, is in the registry:
[[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion]] (hover/mouse-over to see full location)
RegisteredOwner
RegisteredOrganization

*edit* yes bsmith13421, the easiest way is to start with a genuine key, but when you reinstall Windows and try to use this genuine key a 2nd time (even on the same machine) it isn't recognized as "genuine" by Windows Update or the Validation Tool.

Looks like your going to have fun with that really...; I was on the phone with them last weekend for 2 hrs with the same issue they finally ended up giving me a new product key "after I complained eough and provdied tons of proof of owner ship many times over" cause the OEM product key wasn't being used to activate the new machines anymore, you can call them to get your problem resolved but be warned you are going to be in for a lengthy process of questions and answers and talking to people who really don't want to talk to you but the short answer is yes Mircosoft will give you a new product key if you provide enough proof to them that you own the disc and have the software in hand and your pc had it on it to begin with and that thier "annoyance of a keychecker wont take your key when you know it should."
