both have decent amount of rust, some dents and require a paint job and not running but engine can be retuned. or let's say all in all, they're even at face value. i can only buy (and eventually restore) only one. dunno which one as both has their own appeal. what can you say?

Karmann Ghia, rarer, more beautiful and worth lots more when restored!

Good luck with which ever car you choose, they are both classics and worth restoring.

I say why buy a cancerous (rusty) vehicle to eventually restore, when there are similar vehicles in better condition that you could purchase and have less restoration work to deal with?

Restoring a vehicle is a major undertaking. If done yourself,a nd done properly, it could take you 3 to 5 years to 80% restore one of these vehicles?

You might be up to the challenge, but I can think of better ways to enjoy my time, like driving a car as opposed to 'fixing' one.

Whatever you decide to do, spend your time and money wisely.

I'd rather choose the karmann ghia because it's rare to find one these days compared to the mini. there are a few left running today. go for it.
