Yes very much so, and starts very eerily some younger than others. The sad thing is they do not know what damage can happen to their bodies starving themselves to be thin or the risk of plastic surgery.
It's not only magazines, but music videos, TV shows also put pressure on how they think they should look and how they should act...I hate to see little girls dressed up and acting inappropriate for a small child at a beauty pageant and what horrible pressure for such a young child
I do think it is up to the parent to keep their child from falling into this trap, and not worry about what every one else on the job or in the neighborhood is doing
As for women they have had this problem earlier in life and need family and friends to help them

Young girls and women think about how they look all the time. In the cover shot the photographer is generally looking for the most provocative. Rarely is any photographer trying to get anything but attention from the group he's aiming at. So...YES, the pressure is on for all who seek to be like the fully posed models. Many of the models would hardly be noticed if they didn't have the special effects and props in the photographers studio or layout.

As for the false implants, that has spread to much of society. Still, mostly females, but even some men are seeking to be something they're not. That's human nature. Natives in the jungle paint, scar, and implant all manner of foreign objects...all to be appealing to others, to show their bravery, or for whatever ritual their tribe is known for.

As for what magazines, they don't have to be famous people, almost every ad in magazines like People, or Reader's Digest. Has some model trying to get our attention. It's the game we all play. Pressure is not necessarily the right word. I think it's sex appeal that everyone seeks.

Well not the models, its' the attention they get from it. We all want 2 b accepted and chased after and when we see the "perfection" it causes us 2 2nd guess ourselves. I believe its' happening in grade school, as young as kindergarteners. Magazines that show more "body" than person could provoke this.

I can't think of a particular magazine.
But it is all part of the gigantic mass deception.
To make women feel ***** with their looks.
Because....what do they advertise in the magazines????......
The women on the magazine covers?
I gotta tell ya.
I have seen very few of them in real life.
And truth be told I have seen girls with large noses, crossed eyes, and lip piercings that appealed to me more than picture perfect cutesy wutsy cover girl.

Yes, yes, yes and triple yes. They become the standard for all women to follow. Women and young girls think that this is what they should look like and when they can't look like the model,,many feel like their ugly, and a failure. What age? Just take a look at how many of our children are striving to look like adults by using makeup, clothes, etc. Look at our childrens beauty contest. Just a thought

I was as young as 14 when I first felt ashamed that I wasn't as beautiful as the models in magazines. I didn't know then that they are all airbrushed and fake.

Duh! It used to be pre-adolescents, but many adults and clothing manufacturers are sexualizing the dress and appearance of much younger children
