This time of year, the first thing I think of is how we used to spend Boxing Day - My gran and gramps would be staying with us, and my dad's parents would come over for the day too, and always bring a jar of honey and some free range eggs and a nice wine. We'd make brandy butter that was more brandy than butter, have a lovely lunch, all help wash up and then relax on the sofa afterwards - idyllic when you're 8!
Don't think we Westerners realise exactly how lucky we are at this time of year.
In other countries, they don't agonise about how big a turkey to get, or what to buy Aunt Agatha for Christmas - they worry about, whether they're going to eat at all, and if disease will split their family apart before the year is out...
Take a moment to thank whatever you belive in for this easy life we have - I will...
Merry Christmas!
