I have not watched the show "faithfully" since I was 27 or 28 but I was wanting to know the answeres to these questions.

1. What caused Cassie to die??
2. Why did Nick and Sharon to divorce?

I saw the episode where Cassie died but I do not remember what happened and I am getting back into the show again and I would like to know the answers to these questions.

1. Cassie died because she exacerbated her head injury by getting out of her hospital bed to try to get the message to her friends that she was the one who was driving and not Daniel--she was trying to get Daniel out of trouble because he was being accused of causing the accident by driving drunk.

2. Nick and Sharon have cheated on each other numerous times but I think it was mainly the effect of Cassie's death that caused them to break up because they didn't communicate their feelings about her death. Sharon tried, but Nick just put a brick wall up between them, and Sharon couldn't break that wall down. The final straw was that Nick and Phyllis grew close during their trek across the country to track down Lily and Daniel who had fled from the law!

Hope this was helpful. Happy Holidays, and here's for another awesome year of Y&R!!!!!!

Cassie died from a head injury she sustained from a car accident she had while trying to drive Daniel home because he was drunk.

And Nick and Sharon got divorced because Nick got Phyllis pregnant.

1. Cassie was at a party when Daniel, whom she had a crush on, got drunk. At first it was thought that he drove drunk with her in the car - having an accident that caused her death. It was later proved that Cassie was actually the one who drove and died in the car accident.

2. Sharon blamed Nick for the death of their baby daughter.
