What annoys me about the whole situation is that prostitution is the oldest job in the game, women have been selling their bodies for centuries yet no-one wants to stand up and acknowledge this.
Instead of making prostitution illegal and forcing the practice deeper into darkness and away from the protection of the public and the police, why not legalise it so these women can work in clean, safe environments and then maybe we won't have these scenarios where women are getting killed just for trying to put food on the table the only way they think they can.
You're right, we may not agree with it but surely they should be able to be safe and protected? Its their choice what they do with their bodies not anyone elses. They still deserve respect, they are still normal women and society needs to get a grip of what is going on in front of them instead of pretending as if nothing's going on.
I have the greatest sympathy for the families of these women but just hope they are not ashamed of their daughters for trying to make some sort of a living, no matter how they did it.

I spose in a way they need to show that women who are not prostitutes aren't in any danger? It's hard to know. But I agree calling them "normal women" isn't right somehow, it makes the prostitutes sound like an alien species which is unfair. The majority of them have little choice in what they do, either because they know no different or because they've become trapped in the circle of prostitution, which can be hard to break free from (I'm fully aware some will do it out of choice). But the police should show some respect, considering they are probably living in fear of what's going on at the moment.

I agree - they may have chosen a path that other people would not tread but they deserve dignity in death as do their families. In addition for those being righteous about their choice of path - what do you call golddiggers who marry rich men for their money except for legalised prostitiution. Nothing in life is clear cut. So called "normal" women are just as much at risk - Peter Sutcliffe made a "mistake" and killed at least one "normal" woman. It really depends how this person is selecting their victims and what they see as protstitution too. Look at how many "normal" women go out in outfits that reveal all at this time of year. The photos of these dead women show "normal" looking women to me.
On the other hand it must be difficult for him I bet he is exhausted, hopefully he will change his wording today.
EDIT
The Prime Minister has now sent his condolences to the families affected and his sympathies to the people of Suffolk.

They do not necessarily understand that SOME of these women do this out of necessity. Not being able to work in other fields and needing money badly. Unfortunately people do not know the meaning of "There for the grace of God go I". We are not always masters of our own destinies. What a waste of young lives...of beautiful girls who perhaps did this pout of necessity rather than choice.

Normal women don`t have sex for money ! prostitute`s are not normal women ! they do not lead normal live`s , the majority of prostitute`s who work the street`s today do so for the money to feed their drug habit ! ( do you call this normal ? ) since time began prostitute`s used to work the street`s so they could feed their children ( although not considered normal it was accepted because of the reason they were doing it ) But in reality prostitute today ,do so because they are on drug`s ( Fact ) Hey don`t get me wrong this kind of thing shouldn`t be happening in this day & age , But there is no point in slagging off the police, at the end of the day they are trying to do a job and without evidence they have nothing to follow up on ! ! and the reason he referred to prostitute`s as not normal is because they are not " normal "

Yep, know what you mean. At least one of these girls came from a two parent middle class family, decent home and was very much loved, and wanted for nothing. It's not her family's fault she took the path she did..We should have some respect for those left behind

i suppose the police have a responsibility to society in general as does the media. They have to be careful not to give respectabilty to what these women do.
